How to Measure a Treadmill Belt
The most important measurements are the treadmill belt width and the full loop length. Use a regular measuring tape and take your time so the replacement treadmill belt can be made as accurately as possible.
Measure the treadmill belt width
Measure straight across the treadmill belt from the left edge to the right edge. Do not measure the treadmill deck or the rollers. Only measure the actual walking belt surface.
Measure the full treadmill belt length
To measure the full treadmill belt length while the treadmill belt is still installed, measure the treadmill belt in multiple sections instead of relying on one starting mark. Measure one section at a time with a regular measuring tape, write each measurement down, move the treadmill belt forward by hand, and continue measuring the next section. Add all section measurements together to get the full treadmill belt length. If the treadmill belt has already been removed from the treadmill, the treadmill belt can also be cut, laid flat, and measured in full length directly.
Check the rear roller position
If the rear roller is tightened all the way back, the old treadmill belt may be stretched. In that case, mention it in the order form. A common adjustment is to subtract about 0.25 to 0.5 inches from the measured treadmill belt length when the rear roller is already tightened to its maximum position.
Find the treadmill make and model
Look for the treadmill brand and model number on the frame, near the motor cover, under the walking deck, or on the manufacturer label. Include the make and model in the order form whenever possible.
Submit your order request
Send the treadmill belt width, full treadmill belt length, treadmill make, treadmill model, name, address, phone number, and any notes through the order form.
